Calender Assignment

Freshman Assignment #1

This code programs a calendar, you must enter a day, month, and year for the program to begin.   Then two menu options will appear: one will calculate the number of days in the selected month, the other will calculate all the days that have passed in the selected year.  We had 3 functions we created specifically to execute the different menu options, depending on the user input.  Two of the functions are for the two menu options; the third function is to calculate whether or not the selected year is a leap year; this function is used in the other functions to produce the conditional output.

Personally I thought this was the most challenging program I have ever written and really made me think about the code and taught me how to view things in small parts rather than the bigger picture when necessary as well as the code itself (we were studying how to create functions).  The hardest part for me was the function that calculated the days passed in the selected year as it was composed of things I had already done but just in a format I had never attempted before.  Overall the project was an enriching experience that not only helped me understand the code, it helped me understand how to look at bigger projects in general for my career.
